Canada-wide child porn probe could go international

June 20, 2014. HALIFAX – Police say a national investigation that netted hundreds of child pornography charges could expand outside of Canada.
The RCMP released findings of the four-month probe Thursday in Halifax.
They say five young children were rescued by police and 104 people have been charged to date.

The children were in BC, New Brunswick, Ontario and Quebec.
Almost two million images and videos were seized from people in every province.
RCMP Sergeant Michael Petrilli says some of the images showed infants and toddlers being sexually abused.
Sergeant Darren Parisien says he expects the Canadian investigations will spawn similar probes in other countries.
More than 40 police agencies were involved in the investigation.
